Things to Know
A mountain house,
not a hotel.
Before you arrive
A little context makes
for a much better stay.
The house is vertical, private and deeply connected to the landscape. These are the details we want every guest to know before booking.
Natural light
We intentionally leave bedroom windows and skylights uncovered. Morning light can be generous, especially in the Stargazer Loft. We provide a disposable sleep mask for every guest and encourage light-sensitive sleepers to bring their own favorite.
Four levels
This is a true A-frame arranged vertically. Bedrooms occupy different floors, and moving through the house involves stairs. Once you have accessed the house using the keypad on the ground level, you can avoid some of the stairs by entering and exiting through the dining room door on the main level near the parking pad.
Animals, with regret
Regrettably, we do not accommodate pets. Service animals are handled in accordance with applicable law.
Private acreage
You are staying in the woods. In summer, spider webs abound. We knock them down and they can appear again within the hour; this is not a reflection of our rigorous cleaning process. We love enjoying the way they catch the morning dew and reflect the light.
Heated floors
The floors heat slowly and evenly. Set the temperature you want and be patient. Turning the thermostat dramatically higher will not warm the house faster—it is not forced air—and can leave both you and the system overheated later.
Summer cooling
The Forest Suite and Canopy Room have their own air conditioning. The Stargazer Loft is cooled by the main living-room system, and the Velvet Room stays naturally cool in summer because of its location.
Parking & vehicles
In winter, an AWD vehicle is required. Plowing begins around four inches of snowfall, but mountain weather and ice can change suddenly. A parking pad at the bottom of the hill allows guests to leave the car below and walk up when that is the safer choice.
Wi-Fi, not cell service
There is no reliable cell service on the mountain, but the internet is strong. Turn on Wi-Fi calling before arrival and save or screenshot your check-in details while you still have service.
Maximum six
The house is designed for a maximum of six overnight guests.
Septic system
Like many rural Catskills homes, the property uses a septic system. Please treat it gently and flush only toilet paper.
Hot tub
The hot tub is for registered guests and should be used responsibly. Children require close supervision and the house safety rules apply.
Pack-n-play
A pack-n-play is stored in the Forest Suite walk-in closet. The large, dark closet can work especially well as a quiet sleep space for a baby.
For a full week
Friday to Friday,
with a little more looking after.
Weeklong stays include flowers throughout the house, itinerary and reservation concierge before arrival, a mid-week clean and towel refresh, and a locally sourced welcome larder so the first evening asks nothing of you.

Read the notes.
Then relax.
We share detailed arrival and house information because the easiest stays begin with guests who know what to expect. Once you're here, the goal is simple: settle in and enjoy the mountain.
